Last night we had the pleasure of our District Governor (DG) Charlie Spiers and his wife Janne attend our club meeting. Janne talked about her DG wife’s project that she is undertaking with Operation Cleft in Bangladesh. For just $250 a child can undergo the necessary surgery to repair Cleft Palate . We hope our club can donate funds to this worthy cause sometime soon.
Charlie gave us all a very inspirational speech about Rotary in general as well as the Foundation. He talked about how as Rotarians, we have the ability to do whatever we can to make a positive difference to other peoples lives – Rotary is the vehicle we can use to do this. Its about making other people feel important and worthy of a helping hand.
We thank Charlie & Janne for coming along to join our meeting, as well as our other special guests, ADG David Hanlon, PDG Tony Spring and his wife Carla.
